To test yourself, start a new conversation with your language parent about a familiar topic. They should speak slowly and repeat or rephrase as needed.

Test if you can understand them, while

Test if:

• you can understand them
• you can answer in simple phrases (even if most of these phrases are ‘what does that mean?’ or ‘could you repeat that?’)
• you can later write the conversation from memory

If the answer is ‘YES’, you can move on to A2: Daily life language.

Note: you can move through the Speak + Write levels independent from the Listen + Read levels. So you could still be in Speak + Write A1, while already moving to Listen + Read A2.
