Besides your language parent, find as many opportunities as you can to speak with other native speakers.

If you’re already in the country of your target language, make only friends in the target language. Avoid hanging out with your fellow countrymen.

Some ideas to find people to speak to:

• join language exchanges and meetups (where natives want to learn English, and you can learn the native languages)
• make friends with a tutor (find one your age), and ask them to introduce you to new friends
• find a restaurant you like with chatty staff and go there every day

If you’re not in the country yet, language exchanges, communities, tandems are still an option. Also join online chatrooms, Facebook and Discord groups of your target country.
